UfiSpace Awarded Telecom Infra Project Requirements Compliant Ribbon for its Distributed Disaggregated Backbone Router
New Taipei, Taiwan, April, 12, 2022 -- UfiSpace, the leading provider of open and disaggregated transport network solutions, has been awarded a Telecom Infra Project Requirements Compliant Ribbon for its Distributed Disaggregated Backbone Router (DDBR) solutions.
TIP is a global community of companies and organizations that are driving open infrastructure solutions to advance global connectivity. As part of that effort, leading operators and active participants of the Open Optical Packet & Transport (OOPT) Disaggregated Open Router (DOR) subgroup have led the initiative and defined the technical requirements for the DDBR. DDBR, is an initiative focused on building disaggregated and scalable routers that operators can use in their IP backbone networks as P, PE and Peering devices.
DDBR allows innovative service models by providing flexible scaling and significant opex and capex reductions through software and hardware disaggregation. After conducting a detailed analysis of technology supplier responses, the subgroup awarded the TIP Requirements Compliant Ribbon to UfiSpace, paving the way for its solutions to be listed on TIP Exchange.
For the DDBR compliance evaluation UfiSpace has proposed the S9700-Series of disaggregated open routers, S9700-53DX (high density 100G core router), S9700-23D (low density 400G core router), S9710-76D (high density 400G core router), and S9705-48D (400G fabric switch) that were analyzed along with other networking suppliers. These UfiSpace routers were implemented based on the DDBR requirements, which define a fabric white box acting as the backplane and packet forwarder white box acting as line cards.
