OVERVIEW
The UfiSpace S9705-48D is a 48 x 400G disaggregated fabric router that enables UfiSpace's S9700-53DX, S9700-23D, S9701-82DC, and S9710-76D core routers to be deployed as a distributed disaggregated chassis within the core and edge networks.
The S9705-48D disaggregated router switch uses the Broadcom Ramon chipset, which utilizes a cell based switching interface that supports 8 billion cells forwarding per second. This approach maximizes switching performance by eliminating packet overhead and optimizes resource allocation to distribute loading between fabric interfaces.
When coupled with UfiSpace's core routers, the S9705-48D is the fabric element building block that interlocks the S9700 series open core routers within the distributed disaggregated chassis (DDC). The DDC allows telecoms and service providers to implement a pay-as-you-grow model when scaling core network capacities from 2.4Tbps up to 691Tbps.
What is a Distributed Disaggregated Chassis (DDC) routing system?
The UfiSpace DDC routing system opens up the traditional chassis routing system by “Distributing” the line and fabric card components into easy to manage, standalone “Disaggregated” white boxes, each equipped with their own hot swappable fans and power supplies for easy maintenance and servicing. These line and fabric cards are connected together using 400G cables to for a single "Chassis," capable of horizontal scaling from 2.4Tbps to 691Tbps. No longer will forklifts be needed for installing the chassis because the DDC is so compact; just 2RU in height and can fit onto a standard 19” data center rack. UfiSpace’s DDC is designed for a routing system that is easier to install, manage, and maintain, while meeting all the technical requirements of a carrier-grade core and edge routing system.
