[英文] RtBrick and UfiSpace Deliver Open BNG and Disaggregated Routing Solutions

The partnership will develop telco routing solutions starting with a high-scale Open BNG.

Princeton, NJ, August 4, 2021RtBrick, a pioneer in carrier routing software and UfiSpace, a leading enabler of open disaggregated network solutions, today announced the availability of their Open BNG solution and the further development of broadband and mobile solutions. RtBrick has ported its cloud-native Open BNG software onto UfiSpace's open aggregation routers to enable a spine-leaf architecture for building highly scalable broadband networks.

Earlier this year, RtBrick announced their support for Telecom Infra Project's (TIP) OpenBNG initiative, which is driven by TIP's Disaggregated Open Routers (DOR) subgroup. To date, Telefónica, Deutsche Telecom, BT, Telecom Italia and Vodafone have all backed the TIP OpenBNG approach. As one of the earliest supporters for TIP's DOR subgroup, UfiSpace was one of the first to contribute their disaggregated routers to the group.

"The OpenBNG project aims to overcome some of the most important issues operators presently face when deploying fixed access services to a diverse range of customers," said David Hutton, TIP's Chief Engineer. "We welcome the initiative that RtBrick and UfiSpace have taken to provide an integrated solution for carriers. This increase in vendor choice and flexibility is one of the things our carrier members are looking for within their network infrastructure."

RT Brick's routing software offers IP/MPLS routing at carrier-scale, but uses a cloud-native approach, with the software delivered as a container, running microservices, on a Linux operating system.

"RtBrick's partnership with UfiSpace is another milestone in the industry's shift towards open networking," said Pravin S. Bhandarkar, founder and CEO at RtBrick. "The flexibility to select the best hardware and software independently, rather than rely on a monolithic single-vendor solution, brings massive benefits to carriers in terms of scale, flexibility and cost."

UfiSpace's open aggregation routers are equipped with large built-in TCAMs that enable 2 million+ table sizes and supports SyncE and PTP IEEE 1588v2 timing. Built with Broadcom's Q2c silicon, providing 2.4Tbps switching capacity, 4G deep buffers with a multitude of 10/25/100G service ports ranging from 32 to 72 ports.

"Between the growing demand for traffic and the growing complexity for telecom networks, UfiSpace strives to make things more convenient for our customers," says Vincent Ho, CEO of UfiSpace. "We are excited to be working together with RtBrick to enable faster provisioning, flexible deployment options, and reduced TCO for their next generation broadband network."

The joint solutions are not confined to an Open BNG. Going forward, RtBrick will be utilizing the same family of UfiSpace routers for a wide range of IP/MPLS solutions.

About RtBrick
RtBrick has pioneered carrier routing software that runs on off-the-shelf hardware. It has applied the same approach to networks that the huge 'cloud-natives' have used to build and operate their web-scale IT services. RtBrick is a privately held company, incorporated in the USA, with staff located in Europe and India.

About the Telecom Infra Project
The Telecom Infra Project (TIP) is a global community of companies and organizations that are driving infrastructure solutions to advance global connectivity. Half of the world’s population is still not connected to the internet, and for those who are, connectivity is often insufficient. This limits access to the multitude of consumer and commercial benefits provided by the internet, thereby impacting GDP growth globally. However, a lack of flexibility in the current solutions - exacerbated by a limited choice in technology providers - makes it challenging for operators to efficiently build and upgrade networks. Founded in 2016, TIP is a community of diverse participants that includes hundreds of companies - from service providers and technology partners, to systems integrators and other connectivity stakeholders. We are working together to develop, test and deploy open, disaggregated, and standards-based solutions that deliver the high quality connectivity that the world needs - now and in the decades to come.
