[英文] UfiSpace Joins TIP's OpenRAN Project Group to Accelerate Development of Open Fronthaul Solutions
New Taipei, Taiwan, Nov. 23, 2021 – UfiSpace, the leading provider of open disaggregated networking solutions, announced today their participation and collaboration with the Telecom Infra Project (TIP) OpenRAN Project Group to support the development of a greater range of open and disaggregated, standards based solutions.
"TIP is undertaking the essential task of creating a framework to support the development and adoption of standards based Open RAN solutions," says Vincent Ho, CEO of UfiSpace. "UfiSpace is proud to be collaborating with the OpenRAN Project Group to help bring more flexibility and interoperability to the fronthaul network, which we feel would be a key component to the widespread adoption of Open RAN standards."
Earlier this year, TIP published the ‘Open RAN Technical Priorities Document’ – a central guide of technical requirements for the industry that the signatories of the Open RAN MoU Group (Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telefónica, TIM and Vodafone) consider priorities for Open RAN architecture.
"Our OpenRAN Project Group is focusing on accelerating the development and deployment of OpenRAN solutions and we welcome UfiSpace's participation," says David Hutton, Chief Engineer of TIP. "With their significant contributions to our other TIP Project Groups, we look forward to UfiSpace supporting our community with more opportunities and efficiencies to adopt OpenRAN solutions."
As a leading enabler of disaggregated network solutions, UfiSpace will focus on addressing the open fronthaul and will be contributing their disaggregated fronthaul solutions to the TIP OpenRAN Project Group. Open fronthaul is the key building block toward the true open and disaggregated RAN to ensure the interoperability between equipment and also the integration with legacy RAN technology.

About the Telecom Infra Project
The Telecom Infra Project (TIP) is a global community of companies and organizations that are driving infrastructure solutions to advance global connectivity. Half of the world’s population is still not connected to the internet, and for those who are, connectivity is often insufficient. This limits access to the multitude of consumer and commercial benefits provided by the internet, thereby impacting GDP growth globally. However, a lack of flexibility in the current solutions - exacerbated by a limited choice in technology providers - makes it challenging for operators to efficiently build and upgrade networks. Founded in 2016, TIP is a community of diverse participants that includes hundreds of companies - from service providers and technology partners, to systems integrators and other connectivity stakeholders. We are working together to develop, test and deploy open, disaggregated, and standards-based solutions that deliver the high quality connectivity that the world needs - now and in the decades to come.
